# Connect ChatGPT

> Add LeadLex to ChatGPT as a custom MCP connector.

Source: [OpenAI Help Center, Connecting custom MCP servers in ChatGPT](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-connecting-custom-mcp-servers-in-chatgpt).

ChatGPT connects to LeadLex as a custom connector that points at the remote MCP server.

**1. Open connector settings**

Custom MCP servers are available on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, on ChatGPT web. On Business, only workspace admins and owners can add them. In ChatGPT, go to **Plugins**, select the plus button and choose **Add custom MCP server**. Developer mode is not needed.

**2. Create the connector**

Use `LeadLex` as the name and enter this URL under **Connection**:

```
https://mcp.leadlex.com/mcp
```

**3. Choose OAuth**

Select OAuth as the authentication method. LeadLex supports dynamic client registration, so ChatGPT does not need a pre-created client id. Tick **I understand and want to continue**, then select **Create as a plugin** and review the tools ChatGPT found.

**4. Approve access**

Sign in to LeadLex and approve the consent screen.

In a new chat, enable the LeadLex connector and ask something like "Show me my open deals".

> [!TIP]
>
> OAuth is the right choice for ChatGPT. Tools that act on your own LinkedIn account or mailbox need a signed-in user and do not work with an API key.
